Sauntering verse is an iPhone app developed by Babak Fakhamzadeh that generates Dadaist poetry based on your physical location. With this app, you can take your device for a walk and witness poetry being created right in front of your eyes.
Every location on earth can be identified by a combination of latitude and longitude coordinates. Sauntering verse takes advantage of this by assigning a unique combination of three words to every 3x3 meter area around the globe. As you move around, you will encounter different combinations of words, each representing a distinct point on the globe.
In the true spirit of Dadaism, Sauntering verse follows Tristan Tzara's famous description of creating a Dadaist poem. It takes random words, cuts them up, and then puts them back together to form unique interpretations that are specific to your location. Each generated poem is a fresh and original creation, ensuring that your poetic journey is always full of surprises.
